January 2015 News

The horses are all doing well considering the snow and ice we have experienced over the last month. Despite the cold weather the Jockey Club Estates have done an excellent job keeping all the gallops open and workable. When you visit the yard you will notice that this year Harry has decided to keep the older horses in The Nugent yard and put all the 2yos in The Dovecote Yard and this seems to be working well. The majority of the older horses are beginning to do some faster work up on Kingsdown gallop in readiness for the start of the Turf season. The 2yos are all making steady progress and have now been up on Mandown gallops and doing some light cantering.

FLAMBEUSE (4yo) who was purchased at the Arqana sales in November, made a return trip to France to race at Chantilly. She stepped up in distance for the first time and ran a very good race just being touched off for 4th place beaten overall 2 ¾ lengths by the winner. Despite this Flambeuse still managed to bag some euros & valuable French Owner Premiums. The plan is to continue racing in France. This was her owner Glanvilles Stud’s first French runner and hopefully soon to be their first

French winner. Both STAR ANISE (4yo) and CADMIUM (4yo) were dual winners in 2014 with Cadmium giving our apprentice Leah-Anne Avery her very first winner. They both sold well at the Tattersalls February sale to George Baker and Mickey Hammond respectively to stay in racing. They gave great fun to their owners The Astronomers 2 and Susan Abbott Racing.

Windsor House Stables Partnership is now sold out.
