ROBIN OF NAVAN (6yo h) added a new country stamp to his passport when he travelled out to Dusseldorf in the north west of Germany to compete in the Racebets de Meilen Trophy Group 2 over 1m. Ridden by Alexander Pietsch he broke a little slow but was soon into stride enjoying the sweeping downhill start. With not much pace he was soon in the front. As he entered the home straight his jockey asked for a winning effort and he sped up the hill to the finish line easing up to win by 2 lengths from Grp1 placed filly Indian Blessing with the rest of the field strung out behind him. It was Robin back to his brilliant best!  It was a fantastic result for his owners Kevin Freeman and Richard Foden. This extraordinary horse has now won at every level – Group 1, Group 2, Group 3 & Listed. As well as this he has multiple placings at all the same levels. He is now 6 years old, still an entire horse and it is a remarkable testament to the whole team who have kept him fit and well.

Not to be left out 6 days later KNIGHT TO BEHOLD (4yo c) ran in the Sky Bet York Stakes Group 2 at York and finished 3rd to Elarqam (Sheikh Hamdan al Maktoum) who is now been aimed at a Group 1 race. He was staying on well at the end and unlucky not to beat Royal Ascot winner Addeybb. This was another Group result after his fine 2nd in the Group 3 Gordon Stakes to Crystal Ocean who subsequently went down in a legendary fighting finish with Enable in the King George & Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes Grp1 at Ascot.

It was a busy month for Susan Abbott’s Be Hopeful racing syndicate horse CRANEUR (3yo g). First stop was Salisbury where he ran a fabulous race and was only beaten in the final 50yds to finish 2nd.  Next he went to wales to Ffos Las where he was unlucky to encounter false ground after all the hot weather then torrential rain making it loose on top but bravely ran on for 4th place.

Great British Racing members had an enjoyable day at Wolverhampton watching MISS GARGAR (3yo f) finish 3rd. Wolverhampton was also the scene for VOICE OF CALM (3yo f) where she made her racing debut. This rangy filly has been given plenty of time and patience by her breeders Hungerford Park Stud to mature. This was rewarded by an eye-catching performance running on for 4th place.

For a moment it looked like BROOKLYN BOY (3yo c) was going to fulfil his promise at Newbury ending up finishing 3rd beaten only a length by the winner. With a different ride he most likely would have won. This handsome son of Camelot has taken time to get to peak fitness but has lots of potential for his patient owners.
