Three year old AIR CHIEF made it two from two when winning impressively by 7 lengths at Bath. He made a quick turnaround and 7 days later ran again at Bath where he almost made it a hatrick. DR BRASS made his racing debut at Windsor finishing an eye catching 8th in the 1m2 maiden. CLASSIC REMARK, an unraced 3yo daughter of Claxon made her debut at Newbury in the Robert Sangster Memorial Maiden race and finished strongly in 4th place beating quite a few fancied runners. She will be now aimed at the Lingfield Oaks Trial. The 3yo filly DARK CAMELLIA went down a neck on her seasonable debut at Lingfield and DANCING SWORD was a gallant 3rd at Folkestone beaten a length.
New jumping recruit SWORDSMAN made a good debut for Harry when racing at Newbury in a competitive hurdle race. His next race was at Plumpton where under AP McCoy he was a good 2nd in very testing conditions. GO BUT GO who sadly fell and damaged some vertebrae in his neck at Taunton in February, is making a remarkable recovery and after 9 weeks at the vets is now rehabilitating at Templeton Stud. The rest of the NH team are now heading off for their well deserved summer holidays.
Doncaster Bloodstock Sales (DBS) have taken over the Lambourn Trainers Association sponsorship from Systems By Design. This will enable all owners who are registered to the scheme to continue to reclaim their VAT as well as be eligible for cash bonuses.
The yard is a much quieter place as sadly Tom lost his two chickens Cinderella & Julia and his Call ducks, Mr & Mrs Duck, to the fox. They were all great characters and kept the horses entertained in the afternoons and will be much missed.
Lambourn Vintage Machinery & Rare Breeds Show
Christina’s Berkshire pigs Truffle and her daughter Russett made their 2008 showing debut at the local Lambourn Show. Truffle reclaimed her title as Champion Senior sow and then went on to take the overall Interbreed Championship. She has now won the championship at every show she has been to except her first show where she was beaten by her sister Acorn.
